What is Co Manufacturing

Short for “contract manufacturing,” co-packing is the practice of outsourcing product packaging. Co-packers transform raw foods into value-added products ready to go straight to store shelves. This includes products such as jams, jellies, frozen soups, ketchup, and sauerkraut—essentially anything canned, frozen, or dried.

Our co-packing services include dry and wet packaging, viscous and semi-viscous packaging, and HPP (high pressure pasteurization). Co-packing helps food producers, from start-up companies to farmers during peak growing season, by giving them the means to package their food without having to have their own factories, machines, or packing knowledge..

Co Manufacturing Benefits

Cost Effective Product Production

Choosing to use a contract packer can significantly cut down on your costs. Packaging your own products can be extremely costly. Equipment and machinery are expensive and employing and training workers to run such machines is pricey too.

As co-manufacturers, we already have all the machines necessary for your packaging needs, as well as a team educated and capable of handling your products just right. This can help your business reduce the costs of buying and maintaining equipment and new staff.

In addition, co-packing will make your budgeting easier as well. By budgeting for just the fixed cost that co-packers charge, rather than the variable costs that running your own packing facility would entail, your account planning will be simpler and more precise.

Avoid Legal Roadblocks

Running a company that produces any kind of food product means that there are many regulations that businesses must be compliant with. From health inspections to certifications, the amount of regulatory legalities involved can be overwhelming, confusing, and costly. A co-packing company takes many of these compliances off your shoulders. With certified commercial kitchens that you are legally required to use, and a facility that has all the necessary compliances and insurance, we help you navigate the complex world of food regulations and reduce the burden for you.HPP allows for the vitamins and nutrients of the product to remain mostly the same, thus providing a healthier fresher alternative for your product. Furthermore, the method of HPP involves no preservatives. This means that your product will be a clean label food. For customers who believe in healthy, natural, preservative-free food, your product will become their top choice.

Product Scalability
A co-packer’s facility is equipped to handle growth in a way that your company’s smaller facility may not be. During peak seasons or moments of unexpected high consumer demand, co-packers’ facilities have the capability to deal with fluctuations in production and volume, and grow to fit what you need. With a co-packer, you don’t need to worry that you are taking on more than you can handle. Your potential for growth has no limit.
